How do the creators account for the popularity of Naruto
Most people who watch Naruto Shippuden are not content with having to wait for the specific day of the week and the specific time to be able to Watch Naruto. It is for this purpose that there are so many DVDs out which have the episodes of Naruto Shippuden on them. In addition one can go to sites such as Narutoget and see these episodes on 360p, 720p and 1020p as well. People still cannot have enough of Naruto Shippuden and it is for this reason that so much of merchandise is also available and being sold like hot cakes – including headbands, posters and more.
As per the creator Masashi Kishimoto, he never thought that this series of 72 volumes and more than 200 million copies which are in print in more than 35 countries is different or so special. In fact, as per him, Naruto is a reflection of himself. He thinks perhaps the popularity could be that Naruto is always cheerful in the face of so many issues and hardships as well as hurdles that he faces in his life. The popularity could also stem from the fact that he is not perfect and everyone can relate to him.
He also feels that Naruto has not changed much during the entire series, even though the people surrounding him have changed as also the situations. Most of the growing up or the maturing was done early on even though at the end of the series he does become the most powerful ninja. In terms of people and their changing attitude, the difference is that the people who earlier used to ignore or repudiate him, during the course of the series acknowledge him and then accept him as his own. The circumstances too change as per the episodes and that is what evolves or moves the series forward.
